Katie + Tom: Married {Lord Hill Farms , Snohomish, WA}

Filed in: Wedding

From the very first meeting with Katie, I knew her and Tom’s wedding day  life was going to be all about family. Turns out, I had no idea how much.

Both Katie and Tom were surrounded by siblings, parents, and some extended family on their wedding morning. They got ready in the same house, just down the hall in separate bedrooms. Never seeing one another, laughter and anticipation spilled down the corridor. Do you know that quote from Audrey Hepburn? “Happy girls are the prettiest girls” WellKatie was truly a vision, not only because she is visually stunning, but she was just so happy. A kind of happiness that comes in the form of contentment. The kind of happiness that when time rushes by you,  you aren’t even aware, as you are taking in every. blissful. second. As she has planned and waited for this day to marry the love of her life, it was finally here, and all was right with the world.

Before Katie and Tom saw each other, Katie did a first look with her Dad. Looking at Jonathan’s face before he turned was monumental. You just knew how much this moment, this day, his daughter, meant to him. With Katie’s Mom leaning over the porch to watch, and her sister peering from the bushes (Jaclyn, I’m STILL cracking up about it), Katie was surrounded by a tribe of love and support.  It was palpable.

Tom waited on the front lawn to see his bride. As he turned to see her, his smile extended into the heavens. You’ve never seen a happier man. It was this very second that the beginning of their forever was starting. They spent the rest of their day hand-in-hand, nerves non-existent, because when you marry your best friend, there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.

From their first kiss as husband and wife, two families who already seemed as if old friends, were joined into one beautiful (huge) family. Two linages, two legacies, now one. It was one heck of a celebration.

Congratulations on the most beautiful day of your lives, Katie & Tom, it was an honor and a privilege to not only document it, but to witness it. I have no doubt you two are going to change the world together. xoxo, Melissa
