02. About Us
You guys. I am seriously struggling with this blog post. How do you write about two of your best friends? Two people, who individually bring so much to your life, and TOGETHER? They are beyond beautiful. Jeff and I have been the best of friends for over 3 years. Not only is he my best friend, but he’s my spirit animal. He is my buddy who goes out dancing with me, we shop together, we have daily lunch dates on the phone. He is an incredible person all on his own. But also happens to have an amazing man at his side. I’ll never forget the day that he brought Darren over to meet me for the first time. It was within the first couple of weeks of them dating and they came over for brunch. I found it instantly hilarious how much Darren challenged him. They seemed to be complete opposites. Jeff, an artistic, thoughtful, old soul. Darren, a fun-loving, high-energy charmer. Two completely different shaped puzzle pieces, but together, fit perfectly. Years later, as I have experienced so many memories with the two of them, many holidays, and many life moments. I couldn’t be more excited for them to become a family. I couldn’t imagine two people who better compliment each other. A couple that challenges and changes each other in the best of ways.
It was almost a year ago that Darren surprised Jeff and whisked him off to Roche Harbor to ask him to spend the rest of his life with him. It was in the middle of the craziest, busiest, most inconvenient weeks ever. Darren had packed a bag and chartered a sea plane, and took Jeff away from the craziness of life. I knew what his plan was, and I paced by my phone all day, anxiously waiting for a phone call. Later that evening, they Facetimed me from the dock where Darren had just bent down on one knee. Tears streamed down all of our faces. I couldn’t have been happier for them in that exact moment.
When we talked about their engagement session, there was, without question, no better place than Roche Harbor. Not only is it a place that is so important in their history, it’s one of my favorite places in the world. My friends, it was magical.
Jeff and Darren, what do I say to you? Truly. You two are such an important part of my heart. You personally bring so much into my life that I am so grateful for. Thank you for the fun, the happiness, the love, the friendship, and especially the example of true love. I love you both so much.
Let's hang out in cyberspace and send each other love notes in the form of heart likes and an em0ji-filled comments.
